Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 1 to 3 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Jane C. Ackerman, 75, of Wolcottville and formerly of Kendallville died Monday, March 9, 2015, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Ackerman was raised in Wabash and moved to Wolcottville in 1981. In 2006, Jane moved to Kendallville for a few years, returned to Wolcottville, and for the last eight months lived with her son in Zanesville.

She retired from Walker Manufacturing in Ligonier in 1999.

She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Jane enjoyed bird watching and playing Bingo.

She was born January 23, 1940, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to Robert and Gertrude (Loman) DeArmond.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah (Ken) DeKoninck of Auburn; two sons, Rick (Annie) Adams of Rome City and David (Tamra) Adams of Zanesville; and six grandchildren, David Adams, Jr., Tia (Justin) Weimer, Blake Adams, Autumn (Alex) Croft, Amanda (Harry) Stafford, and Amber (Kyle) Becker; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Ackerman; and a brother, Leo DeArmond.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Orange Cemetery, Rome City with Rev. James Tews officiating.

Calling is Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 1 to 3 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville.

Preferred memorials are to Ronald McDonald House.
