Funeral services will be Sunday, October 19, 2014, at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel

Calling is Saturday, October 18, 2014, frm 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home

Nancy DeLong, 58, of Kendallville died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at 11:50 p.m. in Betz Nursing Home, Auburn.

She had resided in Kendallville since 1987, coming from Albion.

Mrs. DeLong worked at Colwell-General in Kendallville from 2001 until June of this year, when her health prevented her from working.

Nancy enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She was born July 4, 1956, in Sturgis, Michigan, to Eldon and Marjorie (Gundrum) Kurrle.

On May 7, 1983, in Albion she married Darrel E. DeLong. He survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ellen and James Musser of Albion; a son, Chad DeLong of Kendallville; four grandchildren, Lillie Ritchie of Kendallville, Kaleb Ritchie of California, Evan DeLong of Kendallville, and Karlee Musser of Cromwell; and a sister, Tereasa Clawson of Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Roberta Kurrle.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 19, 2014, at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Corunna.

Pallbearers will be James Musser, Chad Murphy, Dave Banks, Jeff Cramer, K.J. Cramer, and Rod Fogale.

Calling is Saturday, October 18, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.

Nancy was a special person, good dancer, and had a wonderful laugh. We became friends in school, and had been out of touch for several years, but I have fond memories of our times together in school. She is free from pain and I am sure the Lord welcomed her with open arms. The family has my sympathy.
