Obituary

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Waterloo Free Will Baptist Church, 2833 County Road 27, Waterloo, with Rev. Ron Stambaugh officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Calling is Monday, September 22, 2014, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Minnie Allen-Friskney, 91, of Kendallville died Friday, September 19, 2014, at 8:25 a.m. in Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla.

She moved to this area in 1943, coming from Gunlock, Kentucky.

Mrs. Friskney was a member of Waterloo Free Will Baptist Church.

Minnie was a homemaker. She also worked at No-Sag for nine years and at Wheel Works for nine years.

She was born March 26, 1923 in Gunlock to Bill and Laura (Shepard) Crager.

She married Haden Allen, he preceded her in death in 1966. She then married Ray L. Friskney on December 9, 1988, in Kendallville. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2003.

Surviving are three sons, Billy Joe (Deborah) Allen of Avilla, Rex (Donna) Allen of Kendallville, and Rickie (Delores) Allen of Avilla; a daughter, Janet (Dwight) Keck of New Haven; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and a great great-grandchild due in November.

She was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace “Lilly” Hill; four brothers, Johny Crager, Melvin Crager, Jimmy Crager, and Joe Crager; two sisters, Millie Ousley and Sadie Howard.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in Waterloo Free Will Baptist Church, 2833 County Road 27, Waterloo, with Rev. Ron Stambaugh officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Allen, Travis Ehret, Brian Allen, Darian Allen, Zach Osborn, and Keaton Osborn.

Calling is Monday, September 22, 2014, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.

Preferred memorials are Waterloo Free Will Baptist Church.
