Obituary

Funeral services will be Friday, September 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Vineyard Christian Fellowship, Rome City with Pastor Steve Herendeen officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery.

Calling is Friday, September 12, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church.

Sandra Lee "Sandy" Forsthoffer, 76, of Rome City died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 6:35 a.m. in Kendallville Manor Nursing Home.

She was a 1956 graduate of Huntington High School.

Sandy moved to this area in 2002, coming from Huntington.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, living at the lake, and she loved lighthouses.

She attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Rome City.

Sandy worked at Pick-A-Nut in Huntington and in the office at Majestic also in Huntington.

She was born June 24, 1938 in Huntington to Darrell R. & Vera E. (Short) Johnson.

Surviving is a daughter, Corinna "Corky" (Little) Amable of Roanoke; a grandson, Jonathan Rushing of Livermore, California; a brother, Darrell R. "Boxxcarr" Johnson, Jr. of Huntington; two nieces, Katharine Rafatjah of Tracy,California, and Joann Culler of Fort Wayne; a nephew, Darush Motazedi of Florida; her great-niece and nephews, Joann's children, Coty, Kaylin, and Carson; and her beloved cat Jesse.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Judith McNabb and Kay Lynn Rafatjah.

Calling is Friday, September 12, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church.

Preferred memorials are to the family.
