Obituary

Brenda Kay Showen, 69, of Kendallville died Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at 12:45 p.m. in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1961.

Brenda had worked at Essex Wire in Kendallville and was a waitress at Miller’s Truck Stop in Kendallville.

She was born October 28, 1942, in Green Center to Warren and Maxine (Addis) Hursey. On October 13, 1961, in Kendallville she married James E. “Jim” Showen. He survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Eric Daniels of Kendallville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Marc Showen of Kendallvillle and Jeff and Laurie Showen of Hamler, Ohio; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister and her companion, Vicki Patee and Sherman Click of Kendallville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Roger Hursey.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Tom Clothier of First Christian Church in Kendallville officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marc Showen, Scott Showen, Sherman Click, and Brian Hursey. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Showen, Eric Daniels, Todd Showen, Mitch Frye, Trent Klopfenstein, and Jerry Campbell.

Calling is Friday, November 25, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
