Elita M. Day, 53, of Kendallville died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, in her residence.
Ms. Day had lived most of her life in Kendallville. She was a factory worker, and had worked for 35 years in the same building.
She was born March 8, 1957, in Angola to Charles William and Arnell J. (Hollinger) Day.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Day and Jeremy Day both of Kendallville; three grandchildren, Skyla A. Day, Logan A. Day, and Wyette G. Day; her mother, Arnell J. Day of Kendallville; two brothers, David W. Day of LaGrange and Larry Day of Angola.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles W. Day and her stepfather, Lester D. Acker.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Calling is one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Elita at Teleflex/DriveSol and let me tell you, there was never a dull minute around her. She will be missed. Charlie and jeremy, I worked with your mom for many years. She was a great lady with a wonderful personality and an awesome sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by us all. I spoke to her probably twice in the past month and it was a blessing that I got to see her.She will always be with you watching over you. She loved you boys and those grandbabies with all her heart. "Short Cake" was the nick name that I gave you for a very long time I will miss you very much and I will always keep you in my thoughts. Charlie and Jermy and the rest of your family I'm sorry for your loss but just remember that she will always be with you.
I use to work with Elita. She always talked about her boys and grandchildren. She loved you boys very much. Elita was always making people laugh. It was a blast working with her. She will be missed very much.
Elita will be truly missed. Elita loved her boys and grandkids so much. And would do anything in the world for them. She had the biggest smile and the biggest heart ever. Elita will be missed by all.
She will be remembered by the crew she worked with for nearly 23yrs. I will miss her laughter,twinkle in her eyes, and her wonderful smile.
