Loretta Mary Theresa Demske, 93, of Wolcottville died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 3:35 p.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.
Mrs. Demske had resided in the Wolcottville area since 1947. Most recently she resided at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. She was a 1934 Ashley High School graduate. She was a member of St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City and the St. Gaspar Rosary Sodality.
She was born northeast of Waterloo on December 9, 1915, to John and Flora (Karst) Blomeke. On November 5, 1938, in Garrett she married Joseph O. Demske.
Surviving are a son, Joseph L. Demske of Howe; a daughter, Darlene Mault of Wawaka; four grandchildren, Joseph Demske, Jr. of Bronson, Michigan, David and Amy Demske of Garrett, Jamie and Joe McGrath of Fort Wayne, and Jeff and Abbey Mault of Kimmel; and six great grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Libbey, and Carter Demske and Jacob and Josh McGrath.
She was preceded in death by her husband on December 2, 1992; a brother, Cornelius Blomeke; a sister Lucille Yingling; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Demske; and a son-in-law, James Mault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City, with Fr. Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Ron Brackevelt, Don Brackevelt, Joseph Demske, Jr., David Demske, Jeff Mault, Joe McGrath, Todd Ely, and Jack Mitchener.
Calling is Friday, February 20, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, where there will be a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
