Obituary

Lillian I. Mitchell, 101, of Kendallville died Friday, February 19, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Kendallville.

She was born March 15, 1919, in Delaware County near Albany, Indiana, to Harvey and Susie (Simms) Driscoll.

Mrs. Mitchell had worked at the Ball Corporation in Muncie and retired in 1983 from Werts Novelty in Muncie.

She moved to Kendallville in 1997, coming from Muncie.

She attended New Hope Christian Center in Waterloo.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Tom Murphy of Kendallville; a son, David Study of Round Lake Heights, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Estel “Ray” Frushour and Harold “Mitch” Mitchell; a son, Joseph Study; a daughter, Phyllis Privett; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Study; two grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Percy Young officiating.

Private burial will be at Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Indiana,

Visitation is one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Per the Governor, face masks are required.

Lillian’s funeral service on Tuesday will also live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.

My wife and I loved her dearly and of course what's not to love. When we were attending church together I told her often how much she reminded me of one of my Grandmothers and it was because of the joy of the Lord and the presence of the Holy Spirit that she carried with her and in her! What a blessing to know she's home!!

God gifted me with the presence of my amazing Grandma for 55 yrs. I will never know anyone more optimistic, caring, honest and loving of The Lord, as her. You will be missed beyond measure. Thanks for your unconditional love and all of the memories. Rest peacefully.
