Etta M. Erwin

Etta Mae Erwin, 95, of Foley, Alabama, and formerly of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, died Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Diversicare of Foley Nursing Home in Foley, Alabama.
She was born July 22, 1925, in Pleasant Lake, Indiana, to Rollie Roy and Louvisa H. (Anstett) Alleshouse.
Mrs. Erwin and her husband, Arthur Johne Erwin owned and operated Erwin’s Market in Pleasant Lake for many years.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church near Pleasant Lake.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Wendy Erwin of Foley, Alabama; two granddaughters, Tonya and Jen; and three great-granddaughters, Morgan, Madisen, and Keziah.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
Private burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life service is being planned at a later date at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson-Ashley Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mike and Wendy, we were so sorry to learn of Etta Mae's passing. She was such a positive person and loved by many. She will be missed.
Etta Mae was a great lady and she and my mother Dorothy (Hoyer) McCormick) were very close friends thru school and for many years after they graduated.. We have her family in our prayers.
Grew up in Pleasant Lake Etta an Johne was two very special people .. Enjoyed going to the store an seeing them.. Love an Prayer to the family .

Condolences to you Mike, Wendy & family. We will surely miss Etta Mae. I have known her & Johne since my earliest memories in Pleasant Lake. We are so appreciative that we got to see Etta Mae last winter and have that wonderful chat. The picture in KPC News looks just how I remember her. We will be at the Celebration of Life service that is certain. See you soon Mike.

I can still remember when she operated the store when I was just a young boy. She was a sweet lady and kind to us kids. The community has lost a great lady. Prayers to all the family.
