Obituary

Robert Vester “Bob” Swanner, Jr., 70, of Kendallville died Monday, September 28, 2020 at his residence.

He was born August 29, 1950 in Strawn, Texas to Robert Vester Swanner, Sr. and Jimmie Louise (Lucas) Swanner.

He honorably served in the United Stated Army in Germany from 1971 to 1975.

Mr. Swanner was a graduate of East Texas State University.

He was a middle school computer science teacher, having worked at several schools in Texas.

Bob loved computers and cooking. He could grow anything, having had two green thumbs.

Surviving are a sister, Tina L. Smith of Kendallville; a brother, Carlos E. (Debra Ann) Swanner of Wellston, Oklahoma; three nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Dean R. Smith; and a nephew, Sean Smith.

Graveside services will be Friday, October 2, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Honor guard services will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Preferred memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.

Bob was my 1st cousin and I loved him. I have lots of great memories of when we were kids and as grown adults when we were neighbors in the country. He is in the best place to be with his Lord & Savior.
