Obituary

Shirley Ann Garrison, 74, of LaGrange departed from her Earthly home and was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 10:46 a.m. at her residence.

She was born March 7, 1945 in Renesselaer to Orville Carter, Sr. and Essie (Wireman) Carter. They preceded her in death.

She married her soulmate Gregory P. Garrison in 1984. He survives in LaGrange.

Mrs. Garrison was in Quality Control at numerous area factories and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the NRA and the American Radio Relay League (Ham Radios).

Shirley loved gardening, butterflies, and hummingbirds. She loved to laugh and spend time with her husband, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is also survived by two daughters, Lisa Chester of Auburn and LaDena (Max) Weaver of Avilla; one step grandchild; one step great-grandchild on the way; a sister, Deb Cook of Owensboro, Kentucky; two brothers, Orville Carter, Jr. of North Judson and Paul Carter of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Carter; two sisters, Mary Robbins and Patti Archer; and a special son-in-law, Michael Chester.

A celebration of life service will be held privately.

Memorials are to Heart to Heart Hospice or ARK Animal Shelter, LaGrange.

The family would like to pay special tribute to Heart to Heart Hospice and the Special Angels who took care of her and her family.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
