Obituary

Ruben M. Owens, 72, of Wolcottville died Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

He was born January 25, 1947, in Martin, Kentucky, to Delmer and Elva (Younce) Owens.

Mr. Owens was a mechanic. He retired from Dalton Foundry in Kendallville.

Ruben served on the Johnson Township Fire Department and the Orange Township Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife, Connie J. (Halferty) Owens of Wolcottville; a son, Jason (Nicole) Owens of Wolcottville; daughter-in-law, Margie Owens; ten grandchildren, Sarah Owens, Rebecca Owens, Michael Owens, Makayla Aldrich, Chase Aldrich, Hunter Wallace, Scott Smith, John Smith, Zach Gruenfeldt, and Lucas Gruenfeldt; a sister, Orsa Mae Newsome of Claypool; and a brother, Ellis Little of Langley, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delmer Owens; his mother, Elva Sammons; a son, Johnny Owens; a sister, Magalene Newsome; and a brother, Charles LeRoy Hull.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 4 p.m. at the Orange Township Fire Department in Rome City.

Preferred memorials are to the family.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
