I’m so sorry for your loss. No one knows the depth of your loss except God. He really wants to help you during this time. One way he does is through the promises he has made in the scriptures. In the Bible at 2 Corinthians 4:7 God promises to give, “… power beyond what is normal,” to go from one day to the next. When Jesus was on earth he saw the grief that his friends Martha and Mary experienced at the death of their brother, Lazarus. His heart was pained by their great sadness that he broke down and cried (John 11:35). Their pain moved him to resurrect Lazarus. Everyone was so joyful at having Lazarus back with them. This example is to hopefully give you assurance that he will also resurrect Vic. Jesus talked about this hope in John 5:28, “… all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out.” The resurrection hope is to act as an anchor for us. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, this hope can stabilize you and keep you from drowning in overwhelming sadness so you can have the power to go on. When God brings the reality of his promised resurrection of Vic, he will turn all your tears of pain into tears of joy.

So sorry for you Bobbie. Knew you from Parkview Hospital but also from my mom, Dorothy Sorensen, being on the same hall. We talked a little last year about Thanksgiving plans. Anyway, no matter how much we know it's coming we can never be fully prepared when it happens. I'm hoping you have all that you need to get through this. Will say a prayer. God Bless, Suzanne
