Hansel Wilson Bryant, 63, of Kendallville died Friday, December 1, 2017, at his residence.
He was born November 11, 1954, in Hanover, West Virginia, to Ephe and Velda (Steele) Bryant.
Mr. Bryant had worked at Bakers’ Fruit and Flower Farm, Colwell General, and retired from Mahoney Foundry all in Kendallville.
Hansel enjoyed driving and taught many in his family how to drive. He also enjoyed fishing and would talk to anyone he met. And, he loved to sing, especially crazy songs such as “Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight”.
Surviving are two brothers, Curtis Bryant of Hanover, West Virginia, and Hartsel Bryant of Iaegar, West Virginia; numerous nieces including, Sunni Bryant of Leo and Malinda Climaco of Auburn; numerous nephews including, Dennis Bryant of Kendallville and Johnny Cole of Wawaka; and a great-niece who was his pride and joy and his life, Rebecca “Miss Becky” Mathieu.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ephe Bryant; his mother, Velda Williams; eight brothers, Charlie Bryant, Andy Bryant, Cecil Bryant, James Bryant, Riley Bryant, Ed Bryant, Robert Bryant, and Hershel Bryant; and two sisters, Bertha Mae Branham and Francis.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. There will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Noble County or Erin’s House for Grieving Children.
