Rebecca Ann Bowling, 87, of Avilla died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 9:45 p.m. in Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.
She was born September 2, 1929, in Cawood, Kentucky, to James and Lucinda (Hensley) Howard.
She retired from Keeler Brass Company in Lake Odessa, Michigan.
Mrs. Bowling was a member of the Church of God in Lake Odessa, Michigan.
Rebecca loved plants, birds, especially cardinals, laying in the sun, cooking and she enjoyed making sure everyone was fed.
The family wishes to thank Presence Scared Heart Home in Avilla, in particular the Assisted Living Staff.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann (Bill) Roth of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Tammy (Brian) Hicks of Kendallville, and Sally (Marjus) Aliaj of Kendallville; three sons, James (Kathy) Napier of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Theo (Lynette) Messer of Sunfield, Michigan, and John Dale (Amy) Bowling of LaGrange; a daughter-in-law, Gerry Bowling of Lake Odessa, Michigan; 15 grandchildren, Jim, Billy, Annie, Jonathan, Lucinda, Heather, Ralphie III, Jamie, Amanda, Johnny, Melissa, Chad, Michael, Samuel, and Iliana; 10 great-grandchildren; 13 great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Henrietta McMillian of Cawood, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Bowling in June 1, 1984; a son, Ralph Bowling, Jr.; a sister, Polly Clem; and a daughter-in-law, Vickie Napier.
There will be no visitation or services.
Preferred memorials are to the Assisted Living area of Presence Sacred Heart Home, 515 North Main Street, Avilla, IN 46710.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mommy we are saddened beyond words. In our sadness though we have the hope of seeing you again. We love you and will never forget granny. We know you are shouting the streets of glory with daddy(papa) ! We will see you soon!
I will certainly miss Becky. She was a special lady with a big heart and smile to go with it. I remember being surprised by how much she loved watching wrestling! We had some of our best conversation and laughs when I stopped in during these times. I will never forget her; my thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.
My condolences to the entire family. I would like to thank you for sharing Becky with us at Laverna Terrace assisted living/ Sacred Heart. She was a joy to care for and easy to just love. Becky was such an amazing woman to care for. Any time I walked through her door she had the biggest, sweetest smile. She made you feel right at home. Prayers to the family. I am deeply saddened for the loss of a beautiful soul. She will fly high and free with the angels.
Becky was more then Just an aunt to me,She was like a Sister,She and I had not spent time together these last few years,Because we were not able to,I Love her and will miss her.
