Mrytle J. Wells, 80, of Wolcottville died Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange following a short illness.

She was born October 19, 1936, in Allen County to Ernest and Alice (Fey) Thomas. They preceded her in death.

On June 6, 1959, in Brimfield she married Chalmer D. Wells. He survives in Wolcottville.

Mrs. Wells resided in this area most of her life.

She retired as keypunch operator after 27 years at Sealed Power in LaGrange.

Myrtle loved being with her children and grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Donna Wells of Wolcottville and Craig and Teresa Wells of Wolcottville; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Keeler, Todd Wells, and Sara Wells; two step-grandchildren, Kristen Stahly and Kevin Stahly; and two brothers, James (Jane) Thomas of Washington and Ralph Thomas of Rome City.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Slusher, Emma Hicks, and Anna John; and two brothers, LeRoy Thomas and Harley Thomas.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 10 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Rev. Carldean Merrifield officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.

Pallbearers will be Steve Wells, Craig Wells, Todd Wells, Jennifer Keeler, Jeremy Keeler, and Sara Wells.

Calling is Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 4 to 7 the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Parkview LaGrange Hospice.

Uncle Chalmer, Steve, and Craig...I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Myrtle. I had no idea until I got a Christmas card from Uncle Chalmer. I would have went to her service if I would have known. I keep telling my youngest that I would love to come up there and see you all sometime.
