Obituary

"Fear not for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name, you are mine." Isaiah 43:1. On March 31, 2016 our Lord summoned Patricia Louise Streich, 74 of Kendallville, to His heavenly home.

She was born July 24, 1941, in Kendallville to Paul V. and Mary Louise (Swartz) Streich.

She passed quietly surrounded by the presence of God and her children, Christine (Mrs. Ric Jordan) of Wawaka, Carol (Mrs. Mike Selby) of Albion, Jennifer (Mrs. Wayne Diehm, Jr.) of Kendallville, Joel (Dana) Streich of Wawaka, and her brother, Larry (Loretta) Streich of Howe.

Other survivors include her grandchildren, Anna (Mrs. Ben Glowinski), Michael P. Selby, Jacquelyn (Mrs. Kory Walkup), Kimberely (Mrs. Marshall Mossman), Olivia (Mrs. Brady Oberlin), Wayne (Brooke) Diehm, III, Clayton (special friend, Logan) Diehm, Tanner and Gracelyn Streich. Great-grandchildren, Allison, Elizabeth and Baby Boy Walkup, Trae and AnnLarie Mossman, Cooper Leininger and Wrenn Oberlin, and Benton Diehm. Also surviving are Patty's Aunt Lois Eckhart, niece Lynette Streich, nephew Lynn Streich, longtime friend Deb Moore.

Mom taught us by example that the greatest purpose in life is to love. She taught us forgiveness of others and one’s self. To be kind hearted and defend those less fortunate. Love is the essence of who she was, love is her legacy and her gift to us.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial is in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Preferred memorials are to Riley Hospital for Children.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.youngfamilyfuneralhome.com

My deepest condolences to Christine, Carol and Jennifer (Moore). I lived across the street from you, in the red brick house on Dowling St. I.babysat many times for you three girls when you were quite small. Your Mother was a lovely lady; with beautiful eyes and a loving heart. Over the years, I've thought of her and you girls often. She'll truly be missed. Much love to you and your families. Connie

You were full spirit and lived life to the fullest touching everyone around you, we laughed with you, leaned on you and learned from you but most of all you left us with everlasting loving memories. You will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
