Willis E. Gose, Sr., 82, of Kendallville died Sunday, January 6, 2013, in the Parkview Noble Hospital emergency room.

He has lived in Kendallville since 1974, coming from Rome City.

Mr. Gose retired from Newnam Foundry in Kendallville after 43 years.

He was a member of the Kendallville Eagles Lodge No. 985 and the Kendallville Moose Lodge No. 1301.

Willis loved to fish. He was so good at fishing that it was frequently said that he could catch a fish from a mud puddle. He also liked to work on lawn mowers and was an expert backyard mechanic.

He was born May 6, 1930, in Mongo to Elmer Anderson and Maude Helen (Goodpaster) Gose. On March 5, 1949, in Angola he married Wavalyn M. Blowers. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2003.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Fred Stacy of Rome City and Teresa and Elmer Hall of Kendallville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Willis Gose, Jr. and his companion, Rebecca Neu, Randy and Annie Gose of Kendallville, and Anthony Gose of LaGrange; nine grandchildren, Phillip Stacy, Kimberly Bailey, Crystal Wentworth, Angela Terry, Elmer Hall, Jr., Matthew Hall, Christina Gose, Jessica Gose, and Anthony Gose, Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Marcus of Oklahoma; and a brother, Wayne H. Gose of California.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Frain; a granddaughter, Destiny Frain; a grandson, Dusty Gose; and a sister, Alma Donnabelle Baker.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 1 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery near Stroh.

Pallbearers will be Willis Gose, Jr., Randy Gose, Anthony Gose, Elmer Hall, Jr. Matthew Hall, Phillip Stacy, Anthony Gose, Jr., and Mark Wentworth.

Calling is Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
