Dearly loved son and brother, William Bartley (Bart) Tritch, 55, died on April 20, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Born on July 3, 1962 in Kendallville, Bart spent the first three years of life in Stuttgart, Germany. His father served as 1st Lieutenant in the US Tank Transport Division during the Berlin Crisis. The family moved to Madison, WI, Monmouth, OR, and eventually settled in Klamath Falls, OR where they lived for 18 years.
Bart graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1980 and was active in journalism, football, and the rowing team. He was a member of the Klamath Lutheran Church where he was confirmed and sang in the choir. During his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting, and mountain climbing with his brother and father. Wonderful memories were spent sailing on Klamath Lake. Bart attended College of the Redwoods in Eureka, CA. Greensboro, NC was the final move for Bart and his family.
He worked for ten years in the food services industry at UNCG and was a resident of Hillcrest House and Shepherd House where he made many friends. Bart will be deeply missed by those who knew him yet his gentle and quiet spirit will be remembered.
Bart was preceded in death by his father, John William Tritch and is survived by his mother Suzanne F. Tritch of Greensboro, NC; brother, Dr. Todd Patrick Tritch(Hildur); nephew, Cole Patrick Tritch and niece Vivien Hildur Tritch of Eugene, OR. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Rachel Tritch Lewis (Blake); nephew, Robert Blake Lewis; niece Paisley Suzanne Lewis of Davidson, NC and many other cherished family members including an uncle, aunts, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sanctuary House, 518 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with local arrangements.
