William J. "Bill" Schiffli, 70, of Ashley died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his residence.

Bill was born December 13, 1952, to Heribert & Frieda (Winkler) Schiffli in Garrett.

Bill lived most of his life in Steuben and DeKalb counties. He retired early from Reike Corporation in Hamilton.

On November 30, 1974, he married his high school sweetheart, Deborah K. (Griffin) Schiffli. She survives in Ashley.

Also surviving are one son, his pride and joy, Bryan (Erin) Schiffli, of Angola; three grandchildren, Emilyn, Makenzy and Landon; two sisters, Carolyn (Roc) Brown, of Waterloo, and Lorraine Stoneburner, of Avilla; three brothers, Jim (Kathy) Schiffli, of Waterloo, Dick (Judy) Schiffli, of Butler, and Denny (Teri) Schiffli, of Hamilton; one sister-in-law, Liz Schiffli, of Tallahassee, Florida; one brother-in-law, Steve Erwin, of Garrett; one aunt, Mary Jo Frye, of Zenia, Ohio; and 20 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepfather, Mike Pazitney; one brother, Tom Schiffli; and one sister, Patricia Erwin.

Bill was a loving husband, devoted father and a good brother. He was a hard worker and had a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed.
