Calling: Monday, March 3, 2014 - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the funeral home ********************************************************************************** William Dean "Bill" Martin, 78, of Bear Lake, Albion died Monday, February 24, 2014, at his residence.

He had resided at Bear Lake for seven years, coming from Avilla where he had resided for 30 years.

Mr. Martin retired as a dye technician at Zanaxx, now Federal Mogul in Avilla after 14 years. Prior to that he had worked ten years as a salesman for Skiles Grocery Company in Bluffton and ten years at Memcor in Huntington.

Bill was a member of the Church of the Stone in Wolcottville.

He was born July 12, 1935, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Charles Elmer and Minnie Ann(Meredith) Martin.

On March 16, 1984, in Avilla he married Susan Ann "Sue" Nern. She survives at Albion.

Also surviving are three sons, William Edward (Martha) Martin of Payne, Ohio, Ronald Kay Martin of Huntington, and Jack Allen (Dawn) Martin of Huntington; a daughter, Kathleen Ann (Jerry) Nix of Fort Wayne; a daughter-in-law, Marsha Martin of Huntington; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Gibson of Corsicana, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Arnold Martin; a daughter-in-law, Helen Martin; two brothers, Arnold F. Martin and Charles Martin, Jr.; and a sister, Alta Havener.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 3, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Mike Stanley of the Church of the Stone officiating.

Calling is Monday, March 3, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
