William Gordon "Bill" Ebert, 75, of Kendallville, Indiana, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his residence.
He was born November 24, 1948, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Edward and Betty (Gillespie) Ebert.
On July 12, 1975, in Kendallville he married Roxann L. Marti.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.
Mr. Ebert retired from Hossinger Refrigeration in Kendallville.
Bill enjoyed watching NASCAR and football, playing poker in the area, and fishing. He liked going to the Moose Lodge and attending car shows to admire the "hotrods". He collected Danbury Christmas baby animals and enjoyed his cats. He dearly loved his grandkids.
Surviving are his wife, Roxann Ebert of Kendallville; two sons, Bill (Lindsay) Ebert of Hudson and Mike Ebert of Avilla; six grandchildren, Tyler (Shani) Ebert, Sarah (Nick Kowalski) Ebert, Alyssa (Zachary Smith) Ebert, Brianna (Laik Minnick) Ebert, Addisyn Ebert, and Ethan Ebert; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Ruby, Easton Ruby, and Dawson Minnick and one due in December, Berken Minnick; a sister, Susie Boese of Kendallville; and two brothers, Dick Cross of Kendallville and Tom Ebert of Kendallville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Jim Ebert, Michael Ebert, Dick Ebert, and Bob Ebert.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
The Veterans Honor Guard will provide services on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home and will include a walk-through salute, firing of rifles, and playing TAPS.
Burial will be at a later date.
