Willa Dean Goodman, 68, of Auburn died Saturday, February 25, 2017, in her residence.

She was born January 15, 1949, in Wayland, Kentucky, to Glenn Edward and Anna Louise (Paige) Alexander. They preceded her in death.

Ms. Goodman had lived in Auburn for ten years, coming from Rome City.

She had worked at Family Dollar in Kendallville.

Willa enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and talking on the phone.

Surviving are her significant other, James W. Smith of Auburn; two daughters, Angel (Martin) Baczynski of Wolcottville and Karen (Todd) Rodman of Kendallville; a son, Glenn (Sabrina Lawson) Brogan of Huntington; three stepdaughters, Penny Sue (Martin) Mercado of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Angel Marie (Isa) Alonzo of Fort Wayne, and Angela Buckland of Kendallville; a stepson, Anthony James Smith of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren, Kiersten Buck, Tabitha Buck, Edward Baczynski, Sabbeth Baczynski, Glenn James Brogan, Claude Walsh, and Janice Walsh; two great-grandchildren, Dawson Buck and Quinn Wood; 11 step-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; three sisters, Sue (LeRoy) Rhodes of Wayland, Kentucky, Loretta Cline of Kendallville, and Vicky Jones of Martin, Kentucky; and James' sister, Phyllis (Gene) Lash of Kendallville.

Per Willa's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral services.

Preferred memorials are to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
