Obituary

Wilbur H. Ernsberger, 81, died Monday, January 19, 2009, in St. Joe Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Ernsberger was a farmer, and worked at Newnam Foundry in Kendallville for over 30 years. His favorite way to spend time was with his family. He was well known for his quick whit and one-liners.

He was born in LaGrange County on September 5, 1927, to Theodore W. and Eva G. (Hart) Ernsberger. He married Treva J. (Emerick) Ernsberger in Kendallville on September 3, 1954.

Surviving with Treva, his wife of 54 years, are a daughter and son-in law, Sherrie and Richard Dalrymple of Kendallville; three sons and daughters-in law, Kerry and Tena Ernsberger of Avilla, Roy and Lori Ernsberger of Kendallville, and Ray and Lilian Ernsberger of Kendallville; a daughter-in-law, Carol Ernsberger of Kendallville; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Wava Schindler, and Dorothy Windle, and a son, Greg A. Ernsberger.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville, with Brian Walter of the South Milford Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville. Calling will be Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
