Wayne N. Hons, Jr., 80, of Wolcottville died Saturday, January 30, 2016, in his residence.

He had resided on Westler Lake since 1966, coming from Kendallville.

He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.

Mr. Hons had worked at his family's business, Redi-Mix in Wolcottville for a number of years. He also worked at Fairmont Homes in Nappanee, CMW Transport in Kendallville, and owned and operated an excavating business.

Wayne enjoyed gardening.

He was born September 11, 1935, in Kendallville to Nelson Wayne and Ruth Lillian (Kimpel) Hons.

In 1959, he married Clara Jane Brown in Kendallville. She survives at Westler Lake.

Also surviving are two sons, Nelson Hons of Wolcottville and Wade Hons of Wolcottville; a daughter, Holly (Dave) Villwock of Monroe, Washington; a grandson, Matt Hoefer of Washington; and a great-grandson, Armonie Hoefer of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert "Bob" Hons.

There will be no services or calling. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
