Obituary

Wanda Mae Cowley, 83, of Kendallville died Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, LaGrange.

She was a lifetime area resident.

She began working at Kraft Foods in Kendallville, where she met her future husband. She retired in 2002 after 25 years at King-Seeley in Kendallville.

Wanda loved to go to horse races, garage sales, craft bazaars, and shopping with her sisters. She also enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the Cubs baseball games.

She was born April 19, 1932, in Avilla to Robert and Mary (Christlieb) Iddings.

On April 25, 1953, in Kendallville she married Walter Cowley. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1961.

Surviving are a daughter, Julia (Dawson) Tucker of Kendallville three sons, James Cowley of Champagne, Illinois, Jason (Dawn) Cowley of LaGrange, and Jacob Cowley of Kendallville; seven grandchildren, Beth Ann Hayes, Bobi Joy (Bryan) Cook, Trenton (Lindsey) Cowley, Seth (Brittany) Cowley, Claire Cowley, Grace (Kyle) Handshin, and Peter Cowley; ten great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren with the eighth due soon; three sisters, Blanch Iddings of Auburn, Linda Dilley of Auburn, and Sandra Rutherford of Albion; and a brother, Bill Iddings of Mannington, West Virginia.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Harp; two brothers, Don Iddings and Byron Iddings; a son-in-law, Richard Hazelton; and a grandson, Richard Joseph Hazelton.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Joshua Brown officiating. Burial will be in Woodruff Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Cowley, Jim Cowley, Jacob Cowley, Trenton Cowley, Seth Cowley, and Peter Cowley.

Calling is Monday, November 23, 2015, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Preferred memorials are to Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange.
