Walter Warren "Walt" Allen, 71, of Auburn died Friday, February 26, 2016, in his residence.

He had lived in Auburn for 30 years, coming from Meridian, Mississippi.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 and was stationed in Vietnam.

Mr. Allen worked as a dye cast supervisor and engineer for many companies most of his life.

He was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church in Auburn.

He was born September 3, 1944, in St. Joe, Michigan to William Walter and Rose Marie (Koch) Allen. His parents preceded him in death.

On July 1, 1983, in Monroeville, Alabama, he married Teresa G. Coleman. She survives in Auburn.

Also surviving are two brothers, Larry (Shar) Allen of Crossville, Tennessee, and Timmy (Justine) Allen of Crossville, Tennessee; and a sister, Tina (Tommy) Frochlich of St. Joe, Michigan.

There will be no local visitation or services.

Visitation will be at the Lakeview Pentecostal Church in Meridian, Mississippi. Burial will be at Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery in Meridian.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
