Virginia Myrtle (Quick) Smith, 95, of Kendallville died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
She was born August 22, 1924, in Flint, Michigan, to Burnice R. and Mabelle (Jarvis) Quick.
She had worked for Sears as a switchboard operator and taught knitting classes.
Virginia enjoyed knitting and reading and dearly loved her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Joel Peter) Hone of Pelham, New Hampshire, Diane (Carl) Grove of Rome City, and Terrie Parke of New Milford, Connecticut; six grandsons, Steven (Laura) Grove, Scott (Monique) Grove, Joel (Tara) Hone, Jonathan (Megan) Hone, Brian (Allison) Parke, and Sean (Sarah) Parke; nine great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard George Smith; two sisters, Betty Hazelrigg and Gerry Briggs; and a brother, George Quick.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Chaplain Peter Meneghello of Lutheran Life Villages officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at Zion Cemetery in Wauseon, Ohio.
Pallbearers are Carl Grove, Peter Hone, Steven Grove, and Scott Grove.
A live broadcast of the service will be available for viewing on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 29, 2020, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Per the Governor of Indiana, face masks are required.
Preferred memorials are to the Humane Society of Noble County or Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at the I.U. School of Medicine.
