Obituary

Virginia "Doody" Sizemore, 62, of Rome City died Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

She was born November 14, 1957, in Hueysville, Kentucky, to Creed and Lilly (Conley) Prater.

Mrs. Sizemore formerly worked at Pent in Rome City.

Doody was a fan of NASCAR and Kentucky basketball. She enjoyed playing games with her family and was often caught cheating on card games. Her grandchildren were her life and she was a friend to everyone.

Surviving are two daughters, Shannon (Nathan Messer) Sizemore of Rome City and Jackie Conley of Rome City; four grandchildren, Austin Sizemore, Lilly Baird, Ally Conley, and Hailee Ash; a sister, Lois (Cecil Messer) Wertz of Stroh; a brother, Carl "Perk" (Cathy) Prater of Wolcottville; and six nieces and nephews, Tina (David) Patrick, Annie (Troy) Hedges, Terry (Kelly Coney) Wertz, Shwandra (Kevin) Witham, Cody (Haley) Prater, and Jennifer Prater.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven Pierce, Jr.; a sister, Mildred Prater; a brother, Ronnie Prater; a great-nephew, Fred "Bub" Sturdivant; and two great-great-nephews, Lil Bub and baby Martin.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Larry Anglemyer, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at a later date.

Calling is Monday, November 25, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
