Memorial service: Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel *********************************************************** Virginia R. Rittermeyer, 92, of Winchester, Kentucky, and formerly of Kendallville died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Fountain Circle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Winchester.

She lived in Kendallville until 1982 when she moved to Bradenton, Florida to live with her daughter. In 2004, they moved to Winchester, Kentucky.

Mrs. Rittermeyer was a waitress at the Publix Café in Kendallville. Later, she was the manager of the Publix Motel in Kendallville and she also worked at the lunch counter at Fischer's Pharmacy in Kendallville.

Virginia greatly enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.

She was born May 31, 1920, in Kendallville to George and Ruby (Bower) Schlichtenmyer. On November 15, 1945, in South Bend she married Robert H. Rittermeyer. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1976.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jerry Krull of Winchester, Kentucky; a granddaughter, Krista (Chris) Collins of Winchester, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Megan Collins and Joshua Collins of Winchester, Kentucky; and a brother, Jack Schlichtenmyer of Salem, Indiana.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Schlichtenmyer, Richard Schlichtenmyer, and Max Schlichtenmyer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Regan Ford officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Preferred memorials are to Kendallville VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
