Virginia L. Lear, 93, of Springfield, Ohio, and formerly of Rome City, Indiana, died Saturday, August 9, 2008, in Forest Glen Health Campus, 4100 Middle Urbana Road, Springfield, Ohio.

Miss Lear had resided in the Springfield area for 31 years. She was a Sister of the Precious Blood, having served at Kneipp Springs and St. Gaspar Catholic Church, both in Rome City and at St. Mary's of the Woods - Indian Lakes at Russells Point, Ohio. She was a fifth and sixth grade teacher at numerous Catholic schools, teaching by the name of Sister Ann Thelma. Prior to moving to the Forest Glen Health Campus, she resided at the Ohio Pythian Home in Springfield.

She was born November 22, 1914, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, to George Fredrick and Philomenia Lear. Surviving are two nieces, Judith K. Huffman of East Liberty, Ohio, and Carolyn Taylor of Springfield, Ohio, and a nephew, George Edward Lear of West Mansfield, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at 12:00 noon in St. Gaspar Catholic Church, Rome City, with Fr. Bernard Ramenaden officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville, Indiana, is in charge of arrangements.
