Obituary

Victoria Lynn "Vicki" Sparkman, 65, of Kendallville died Sunday, August 30, 2015, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

At the age of 14, her family moved to Avilla from Saw Mill Lake near Wawasee.

She was a 1968 graduate of East Noble High School, where she was a member of the Changing Seasons.

She retired from Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville as a nursing assistant.

Vicki enjoyed walking and being an active part of the East Noble Band Boosters. She was a member of the Salem United Baptist Church.

She was born December 7, 1949, in Indianapolis to Clifford and Gladys (Bolton) Boulden. They preceded her in death.

On January 9, 1981, in Kendallville she married Hargos Sparkman. He survives in Kendallville.

Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Vela of Kendallville and Angie (Skeet) Bowersox of Sturgis, Michigan; two sons, Jim (Kayla Kretler) Sparkman of Avilla and Nate Sparkman of Kendallville; 12 grandchildren, Sierra Vela, Nic Bowersox, Owen Bowersox, Emma Bowersox, Gabriel Sparkman, Blayne Sparkman, Eli Sparkman, Kylie Kretler, Zoie Conley, Ryan Meyers, Jayna Sparkman, and Addilynn Victoria Grace Sparkman due any day.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 4, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in the Salem United Baptist Church, 8227 N SR 9, Kendallville with Pastor Billy Tuttle officiating. Burial will be in Hooper-King Cemetery, Avilla.

Pallbearers will be Jim Sparkman, Nate Sparkman, Kevin Bradley, Jason Knapp, Tony Sparkman, Jeff Sparkman, and Skeet Bowersox.

Calling is Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 2 to 7 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to the family.
