Obituary

Victor Sutton, 76, of Little Turkey Lake died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 2:15 p.m. in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

He was born March 17, 1940, in Knott County, Kentucky, to Seaphas and Virginia (Stamper) Sutton.

On November 7, 1960, in Pound, Virginia, he married Joyce M. Nichols.

Mr. Sutton moved to this area as a young boy, coming from Kentucky.

He retired from Essex Wire Corporation in Kendallville on April 30, 2002, after 24 years of service.

He was a member and deacon at the Church of the True God near South Milford where he loved singing and worshipping the Lord.

Victor enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing. He dearly loved being with his great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce M. Sutton of Little Turkey Lake; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Carl Combs of Wolcottville and Brenda and Ford Frick, Sr. of Albion; a brother and sister-in-law, Cephas and Barb Sutton of Kendallville; three granddaughters, Sachel Sutton, Sarah Sutton, and Madeleine Young; nine great-grandchildren, Dwan "Davey", Jakennis, Aviara, Ava, Tayson, Indica "Dottie", Isla, Quandric, and Bly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Wesley D. Sutton.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the True God near South Milford with Rev. Ken Beverly and Rev. Dwayne Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the South Milford Cemetery.

Calling is Friday, March 10, 2017, from 2:30 to 9 p.m. at the church where there will be an evening service at 6 p.m.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
