Vicki E. Bales, 70, of Rome City, Indiana, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born June 15, 1953, in Batesville, Arkansas, to Victor and Hester (Womac) Altom. They preceded her in death.

On September 11, 1971, she married Jerry L. Bales. He survives in Rome City.

She retired after 34 years at Hendrickson Suspension in Kendallville.

Vicki enjoyed shopping, cooking, and watching foreign language films.

Also surviving are a daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Chrisman of Decatur; two sons, Christopher (Tracy) Bales of Kendallville and Jason (Rebecca) Bales of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Kara, Joshua, Brittany, Alex, Audrey, Destiny, Ethon, Skyla, Blake; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat (Duane) Jones of Bangor, Michigan; and a brother, Kenny (Janice) Altom of Indianapolis.

Celebration of life services are Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 4 p.m. at Five Corners Baptist Church, 2995 E 600 S, Wolcottville.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.

Flowers and memorials to the family may be delivered to the church.

Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville is assisting the family with arrangements.
