Tyler A. Owens, 26, of LaGrange went to home to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne due to injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident on August 30, 2018.
He was born March 20, 1992, in Kendallville to Rodney and Melinda (Herendeen) Owens.
He was a 2010 graduate of Lakeland High School and worked at Rich's Trailers in Topeka.
Tyler was a member of Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Rome City. He enjoyed fishing and listening to music and loved spending time with his children.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Melinda and Drew Williams of LaGrange; a daughter, Aryana Owens of Stroh; a son, Tybias Owens of Kendallville; a sister, Maecee (Prince Blackwell) Owens of Albion; a brother, Rodney (Brooke Honaker) Owens, Jr. of Kendallville; maternal grandparents, Steve and Marge Herendeen of Rome City; paternal grandmother, Reva Owens of Ashley; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Alden Owens; and grandfather, Alden Owens.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Vineyard Christian Fellowship, 705 Kelly Street Extended, Rome City with Rev. Lemuel Dees officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Owens, Jr., Steve Herendeen, II, Chad Randol, Kenny Barden, Jr., Chase Owens, Prince Blackwell, James Marti, Derek Schrock, and Matt Herendeen
Calling is Monday, September 10, 2018, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to the family for funeral expenses or Indiana Donor Network.
Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
