Obituary

Timothy L. "Taxi Tim" Thurston, Sr., 60, of Hamilton, formerly of Charlottesville, Virginia, went home to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler.

He was born January 13, 1958, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Grant Henry and Eunice Nelson (Via) Thurston. His beloved parents preceded him in death.

Tim drove a taxi cab in Charlottesville for 40 years. His love for the job and the people he carried meant the world to him.

Tim was a proud father to five wonderful children, Timothy (Heidie) Thurston, Jr. of Hamilton; Trinity (Lisa) Thurston of Van Wert, Ohio; Virginia Ashcraft of Charlottesville, Virginia; Melinda (Anthony) Morris of Waynesboro, Virginia; and Katie Anne Thurston, who preceded him in death.

He was also a grandfather to eight grandchildren; and a brother to several sibilings.

There will be no local visitation or services. Burial will be in the Beaverdam Baptist Cemetery, Vinton, Virginia, at a later date.

Young Family Funeral Home, Hudson Chapel, 612 North Main Street, Hudson is assisting the family with arrangements.
