Timothy R. Rutherford, 51, of Kendallville died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 3:05 p.m. in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne from complications due to an auto accident on January 26, 2012.
He was a 1980 graduate of Central Noble High School, and recently graduated from Brown Mackie College with an associate degree in occupational therapy.
He was a devoted member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville.
Tim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren.
He was born September 7, 1960, in Auburn to Raymond M. and Sandra K. (Iddings) Rutherford. On August 3, 1980, in Kendallville he married Laurie Bay.
Surviving are his wife, Laurie Rutherford of Kendallville; two daughters, Stephanie (Frederick) Kramer of Garrett and Andrea (David Altimus) Rutherford of Wawaka; two grandchildren, Nolan Kramer and Aryka Kramer; his mother, Sandra K. Rutherford of Albion; two sisters, Toni K. (Jack) Ridenour of Fort Wayne and Trina M. (Mark) Krueger of Churubusco; a brother, Toby (Danille) Rutherford of Fort Wayne; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Faith United Methodist Church, 411 Harding Street, Kendallville, with Pastor Steve Bahrt officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Kramer, Toby Rutherford, John McHale, Merle Grossjean, and Sean McHale. Active pallbearers will be Fred Kramer, David Altimus, Eric Stadtfeld, Todd Garver, Thomas Krueger, Brandon Rutherford, Blake Rutherford, and Joseph Krueger.
Calling is Friday, February 10, 2012, from 2 to 8 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Helping Hands of Faith United Methodist Church.
