Thelma J. Meyers, 69, of Rome City died Thursday, November 2, 2017, in her residence.
She was born November 14, 1947, in Welch, West Virginia, to George and Goldie (Hicks) Charles.
On March 15, 1982, in Albion she married Mahlon K. Meyers.
Mrs. Myers retired after 21 years at Silgon Plastics in Ligonier.
She was a member of the True Church of God in Jesus Name in Kendallville.
Thelma loved to read, cook, and care for her family. She was active in her church.
Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey (Ellen) Hicks of Fort Wayne, Virgil (Vicky) Hicks of Butler, and Willis (Renee) Hicks of Butler; three daughters, Paula Brenay of Columbia City, Tammy (Tim) Cowan of Wolcottville, and Alicia Hicks of Goshen; 18 grandchildren, Jayla Hunt, Jeffrey Hicks, Saylor Lindsey, Christina Brenay, Gabrielle Hicks, Abigail Hicks, Virgil Hicks, Vincent Hicks, Victor Hicks, Brient Hicks, Peyton Hicks, Austin Woodworth, Malcolm Woodworth, Tyruss Fugate, Corie Joe Fugate, Dagan Hicks, Cody Collins, and Luke Collins; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Pilnock, Nickolai Pilnock, Nolan Pilnock, and Elaina Lynn Hicks; and five sisters, Tina Gibson of Wolcottville, Barbara (Jim) Johnson of Berwind, West Virginia, Janice (Tim) Kirk of Charleston, West Virginia, Llinda Charles of Goshen, and Trisha (Dale) Anders of Easley, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Corby Charles and Gordon Charles.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 6, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the True Church of God in Jesus Name in Kendallville with Pastor Worley Gibson and Pastor Junior Brewster. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Wolcottville.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Hicks, Saylor Lindsey, Virgil Hicks, Brient Hicks, Peyton Hicks, Austin Woodworth, Malcolm Woodworth, and Dagan Hicks.
Calling will be Monday, November 6, 2017, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
