Obituary

Terry L. Goldey, 74, of Fort Wayne died Thursday, January 21, 2021, at his residence.

He was born November 21, 1946, in Fort Wayne to Bud and Phyllis (Hart) Goldey.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam with the 1st Calvary Division.

Mr. Goldey retired from Painter's Local Union 469 in Fort Wayne.

He was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, and American Legion Post 499 and 82.

Terry loved I.U. basketball, coaching Little League, and fishing. He was a loving father and grandfather who took pride in his family.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Lisa Goldey of Avilla and Josh and Angi Goldey of Huntertown; six grandchildren, Ashleigh Goldey, Alexis Goldey, Alizabeth Goldey, Sebrena Oprysk, Ryan Goldey, and Elizabeth Goldey; four sisters, Merri Hettinger, Anna Schible, Kathy Morimanno, Margaret Jones all of Fort Wayne; and the mother of his sons, Charlotte Tavassol of LaOtto.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Dylan Goldey; and four brothers, Larry, Gary, Jerry, and Charlie.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 6 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with the Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner officiating.

Honor guard services will be provided by the U.S. Army and the Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Per the Governor of Indiana, face masks are required.

Terry's funeral service on Tuesday will also live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
