Obituary

Sylvia Claire (Nowels) Post, 76, of LaGrange and formerly of the Rome City and Wolcottville area died Thursday, October 18, 2012, in Life Care Center in LaGrange.

She had worked as a cook at Kneipp Springs in Rome City and at a nursing home in LaGrange.

She was a member of the Rome City United Methodist Church.

She was born November 20, 1935, in Kendallville to Riley and Dorothy (Bliss) Nowels.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Dave Kauffman of Wolcottville and Laura and Richard Lynch of St. Louis; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Karen Post of Muskegan, Michigan; eight grandchildren; one step grandchild; eight great grandchildren; and one step great grandchild; and a sister, Cynthia Rensberger, Kendallville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Post.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 22, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor John Adams officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Calling is Sunday, October 21, 2012, from 3 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.

Preferred memorials are to Life Care Center of LaGrange or to the Rome City United Methodist Church.
