Obituary

Susan Ann "Sue" Martin, 74, of Albion died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at 8:53 p.m. at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

She was born April 4, 1943, in Fort Wayne to Elmer and Geraldine (Miller) Nern.

On March 16, 1984, in Avilla she married William Dean "Bill" Martin. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2014.

Mrs. Martin had resided at Bear Lake near Albion for five years, coming from Avilla.

She had worked at the Fort Wayne State Hospital as a Psychiatrist's attendant and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Church of the Stone in Wolcottville.

Sue enjoyed making and selling t-shirts at flea markets. But, her greatest enjoyment was being a greeter at church.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Ann (Jerry) Nix of Fort Wayne; three stepsons, William Edward (Martha) Martin of Payne, Ohio, Ronald Kay Martin of Huntington, and Jack Allen (Dawn) Martin of Huntington; two granddaughters, Brittney Nix and Emily Nix; and five brothers, Larry Nern, Richard Lee Nern, Michael Lichtsinn, Tom Lichtsinn, and Terry Lichtsinn.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Melinda Kay Schlotterer, a son, Joseph Edward Schlotterer; and two brothers, Karl Largent and Dennis Lichtsinn.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 2, 2017, at 4 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Mike Stanley of the Church of the Stone officiating.

Calling is Friday, June 2, 2017, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
