Obituary

Steven J. Zawadzke, 57, of Kendallville died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at 4:17 p.m. in Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne. He had been ill since April, 2006. He was a lifetime resident, and a 1969 graduate of East Noble High School. He was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Kendallville. He was also a member of the Indiana National Guard from 1970 to 1976 and served as Staff Sergeant in the Mortar Platoon of Combat Support Company 1/293 Infantry. He liked traveling to Michigan and enjoyed Civil War and the World Wars history and watching the history channel. He was born October 2, 1949, in Kendallville, Indiana, to John & Luella (Baker) Zawadzke. He was married on September 18, 1987, in Kendallville to Monique McDonald. Surviving are his wife, Monique Zawadzke of Kendallville; a daughter, Suzanne Zawadzke of Wolf Lake; three grandchildren, Alexia, Kyle and Maya; two nieces, Anne Noel of New York City and Cheryl "Ootsie" Noel of Atlanta, Geoargia; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth & Jane Freiburger of Kendallville. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sarah (1979); a son, Andrew (2000); and a sister, Sharon (1997). At Steve's request, there will be no viewing or service. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road, Ft. Wayne, IN 46814, or Parkview Noble Home Health.
