Steven Lynn Fuhrman, 66, of Avilla, died Monday, July 25, 2022, at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born August 25, 1955 in Fort Wayne to Wilbert and Helen (Krueckeberg) Fuhrman. They preceded him in death. On June 18, 1994, in Fort Wayne he married Robin E. DePew. Steve retired from Prairie Farms Dairy where he was a maintenance supervisor for over 30 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, doing his never ending honey-do list on the farm, but most importantly spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Robin Fuhrman of Avilla; a daughter, Heidi (Wes) Spencer of Rockford, Michigan; a son, Nick (Christine) Fuhrman of Westfield; seven grandchildren, Alyssa Fuhrman, Mallory Fuhrman, Bradley Fuhrman, Kyli Spencer, Gage Spencer, Myah Spencer, and Penelope Spencer; a sister, Charlene Minick of New Haven; three sisters-in-law, Lee Ann DePew of Kendallville, Lori Bowman of Peoria, Illinois, and Renee (Sid) Carty of Indianapolis; eight nieces and nephews; and Gram, Edna Heathers of Avilla. Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Steve's funeral service will be Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Keenan of Berean Baptist Church in Albion officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville. Honorary casketbearer is Alex Moser. Active casketbearers are Bobby Campbell, Jim Vandermark, Phil Bowman, Jake Bowman, Derek Carty, Tyler Wetzel, Chris Stoll, and Craig Stoll.
