Steven Jay Asher, 69, of Kimmell, Indiana, died Friday, September 29, 2023, at Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw.

He was born August 4, 1954, in Kendallville to Thomas and Geraldine (Vorndran) Asher.

Mr. Asher worked for Carpenter's Union Local 232 in Fort Wayne where he was a master carpenter.

Steve was extremely handy and could do anything for anyone. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Andrew Paino of Fort Wayne; a daughter-in-law, Christy Asher of New Haven; three grandchildren, Serena Snell, Damien Asher, and Libby Asher; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Steve Heltzel of Kendallville and Barb Stevens of Kendallville; and his companion, Dawn Wedding of Kimmell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Shawn Asher in 2020; and two brothers, Pat Asher in 1974 and Mike Asher in 1993.

There will be no visitation or services.

Burial will be at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.

Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville is assisting the family with arrangements.
