Funeral services will be Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel.
Calling is Friday, January 16, 2015, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. *************************************************************************************** Sheryl L. Davis, 68, of Kendallville died Friday, January 10, 2015, at 9:27 p.m. in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She had lived in this area since 1985, coming from Morenci, Michigan.
Mrs. Davis worked in home health care for CompreCare Home Health and retired from the Northeastern Center, both in Kendallville.
She was a member of Kendallville American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary, the Kendallville Eagles Lodge, and the First Congregational Church in Morenci, Michigan. She had also served on the Kendallville Housing Authority.
She was born November 17, 1946, in Adrian, Michigan, to Steven Gorczyca and Ruth (Hayward) Palms.
On June 30, 2007, in Kendallville she married Lawrence J. "Larry" Davis. He survives in Kendallville.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa (Brink) and Ben Poorman of Wauseon, Ohio, and Cindy (Borton) and Jeff Womack of Northville, Michigan; a stepdaughter, Brittney Davis of Kendallville; five grandchildren, Ben Poorman, III, Matthew Poorman, Garrett Poorman, Adam Bedingfield, and Dashal Womack; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rebecca Church of Adrian, Michigan, and Michelle and Shawn Rogers of Adrian, Michigan; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack Palms of Sand Creek, Michigan, and Tim and Barb Palms of Morenci, Michigan; her mother-in-law, Peggy Davis Mertz of Fort Wayne; and her sister-in-law, Pamela Davis Anderson of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Palms.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Bret Frymier of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Albion officiating.
Calling is Friday, January 16, 2015, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home and on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
