Sharon Kay Gibson, 80, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Monday, January 2, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born August 1, 1942 in Indianapolis to Carl and Earlene (Newgent) Berry.
Sharon had worked for several years at Magnavox in Garrett and Kraft Foods in Kendallville.
She loved spending time with family, especially her girls and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Packers. But more importantly, watching her grandson, Josh, play for East Noble in the 2000 state championship game. She never missed one of his games and was affectionately known as "Grandma" to the whole team. Sharon also enjoyed Bingo and her trips to Wal-Mart where she often ran into many dear friends.
Surviving are three daughters, Charlene (Jay) Smart, Cheryl (Pat) Martin, and Charlotte Baldwin all of Kendallville; six grandchildren, Shondria Rangel, Josh (Lacey) Smart, Natasha Martin, Kaylee Martin, Ashlyn (Jeremy Starr) Baldwin, Michael (Kristen Kammerer) Baldwin; 12 great-grandchildren, Noe, Ema, Eden, Maddie, Karter, Bennett, Anthony, Xander, Aarianna, Leilyn, Kaylyn, and Hayden; six great great-grandchildren, Mateo, Lilliana, Kaison, Nova, Johanna, and Anna'lyse; two sisters, Donna (David) Miller and Connie Lee both of Kendallville; and two brothers, Doug (Sally) Berry of New Albany and Joseph (Rick) Bries-Berry of Denver, Colorado.
She preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Paul E. Baldwin; an infant sister, Tammy Berry; and a brother-in-law, Bill Lee.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville with Pastor Mike Antal officiating.
Visitation will also be on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
