Sharon Lee Anderson, 93, of Avilla, Indiana died Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla.

She was born March 23, 1933, in Kendallville, Indiana to Robert C. and Gretta Mae (Lehner) Gehring.

She was a 1951 graduate of Kendallville High School.

Sharon had worked at the Cole YMCA in Kendallville as a receptionist and in the gift shop at Gene Stratton Porter.

She will be remembered for her love of reading, crocheting, music, musicals, dancing, and animals. She carried passions that shaped her life and left their own mark.

Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia Probst of Fort Wayne, Elizabeth (Fred) Grant of LaGrange, and Rebecca Probst of Kendallville; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents; a son, Michael Probst; a sister, Roberta Frederick; and a brother, John Gehring.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
