Sara Rae "Fluffy" Taylor, 57, of Avilla, Indiana, died Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne due to the results of an auto accident on July 9th on State Road 3 south of Kendallville.
She was born February 25, 1967, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Donald R. and Marjorie E. (Knappenberger) Taylor.
Having been born with spina bifida, Sara was recently told by IU Hospital that she was the oldest survivor of this condition in Indiana.
Sara attended college at North Manchester and IU in Fort Wayne.
She worked as a librarian at the Rome City Library for 16 years. She then volunteered as librarian at St. John Lutheran School in Kendallville.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kendallville and the DAR.
Sara was an avid IU Hoosier fan. She loved to read, was a volunteer at the Noble County Humane Shelter, and was a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. And, she dearly loved animals, especially her three cats.
Surviving are her mother, Marge Taylor of Avilla; two sisters, Cynthia (Ken) Angel of Churubusco and Sandy (Steve) Miller of Churubusco; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Don Michael Taylor and Mark Farren.
Visitation will be Monday, July 22, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville.
The funeral service will be Monday, July 22, 2024, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Philip Rigdon and Rev. Dr. Robert Shriner officiating.
Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Pallbearers are Ken Angel, Steve Miller, Jeremy Angel, Jason Tierney, Shaun Ule, Thomas Farren, and Chad Brenneke.
Sara's funeral service on Monday will live stream on the Young Family Funeral Home Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church or St. John Lutheran School.
