Sally J. Hicks, 85, of Kendallville, Indiana, died Monday, July 3, 2023, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She was born June 6, 1938, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Harold and Bonnebelle (Baker) Westphal.

On August 30, 1992, in Kimmell she married Leon Hicks. He survives in Kendallville.

Mrs. Hicks retired from Eaton Corporation in Kendallville after 20 years.

She was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kendallville.

Sally enjoyed embroidering, gardening, and canning the foods her garden produced.

Also surviving are two sons, Timothy (Trina) Hewitt of Kendallville and Leon Hicks, Jr. of Kendallville; a daughter, Debra (Rex) Swager of Kendallville; two sisters, Barbara Mortimore of Michigan and Christine Mills of Elkhart; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Westphal; her mother, Bonnebelle Grate; two daughters, Katherine Baker and Monica Baker; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10 a.m. at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 106 Miller Road in Kendallville with Kevin Stayner officiating.

Private burial will be in Lake View Cemetery at Kendallville.
