Obituary

Ruth Ann Wright, 81 of Oliver Lake, Wolcottville and Glen Ellyn, Illinois died Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Orchard Pointe Health Campus in Kendallville.

She was born November 24, 1938 in Marion, Illinois to John and Ina (Topul) Mallaburn.

On August 30, 1959 in Johnston City, Illinois she married Keith Wright. He survives in Glen Ellyn and at Oliver Lake.

Mrs. Wright began her career in Education as a teacher. After receiving two Master's Degrees and a Doctorate she eventually worked her way into administration. She was known throughout Illinois for her work with the gifted children. After her retirement from the local school district, Northwestern University sought her out to work in their program testing gifted children. She worked for Northwestern for ten years before fully retiring.

Ruth was a member of the Methodist Church in Glen Ellyn, and many Education Societies.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lisa Ann (Ted) Lane of Chicago; and two granddaughters, Kyra Ann Lane and Marissa Ann Lane.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, John Mallburn, Jr.

There will be no local visitation or services.
